England is the largest and most densely populated constituent country of the United Kingdom in northwestern Europe. It covers most of the southern part of the island of Great Britain, borders Scotland to the north and Wales and the Irish Sea to the west. To the east, it borders the North Sea; to the south, the English Channel; and to the southwest, the Atlantic Ocean.
